What Are We Seeing?
by Rev. Paul Lachlan Peck
There’s so much good to see in all the earth,
One marvels at the beauteous forms of God;
From dew-drops gently resting on a leaf,
To each new wonder springing into birth.
There’s so much good in everyone we meet,
And much to see of Truth exemplified.
Yet we must focus with the mind’s pure eye
If we the beautiful and true would greet.
We must see ourselves as Love reflected,
In the eyes and minds of those we know;
We must see them as seeing Love in us,
Always Love reflecting Love connected.
How we perceive that which we see is prime,
High attitude of thought is Love’s clear lens;
The shutters of Love’s vision never close
On error’s lies of energy, space, time.
If we would see with ever clearer sight,
Expand the length, breadth, depth and majesty
Of all creation’s forms and hues at length,
Then we must see as God, with Love our might.
How we are seeing just what we may see,
Life, Truth and Love eternal patterns make;
The dimming vision clears to sight at last,
We find that each the perfect man must be!
