Give Ye Them to Eat
(Matthew 14:15-21)
6,6,8,6
O give ye them to eat,
The gentle Master said;
Since it is righteous and meet
That every soul be fed.
Fed by the Truth divine,
With Holy Word inspired;
To Oversoul and hearts inclined,
All error soon retired.
One’s hunger and one’s thirst
For Truth is ever set;
‘Til all the world is freed at last,
And every need is met,
O give ye them to eat,
Truth’s manna is for all;
We must not sit in judgment seat,
Lest we ourselves should fall.
The hungry must be fed,
Since Truth shall e’er remain;
The sick and sorrowing be led
To health and peace again.
Since bread alone is spare,
And cannot satisfy;
‘Tis Truth alone that lifts each care,
When man on Truth relies.
