There are two themes that ring out clearly from the hundreds — actually thousands — of stories I have read this month: first, that we all deeply desire to be known and loved by our Creator God, and second, that we all desperately need to know that the people we are closest to, our families and friends, love us just because we breathe. Pretty simple, right?

Let Freedom Ring!
by Rev. Paul Lachlan Peck
Let every voice sing out,
Let freedom’s song be sung;
The glorious Truth reigns all about,
The victory march begun.
Be free from error’s thrall,
From sickness’ bed of pain;
For Life supreme is over all,
To make man whole again.
Be free from bigotry,
And judge not fellow men;
For Love is All-in-All, to be
Expressed by Love again.
Be free to choose your path,
As Mind unfolds the Plan;
You cannot suffer error’s wrath,
You are God’s perfect man.
Be free to live and breathe,
To pursue happiness;
Your crown is Spirit’s hallowed wreath,
Your life is deigned to bless.
Let every voice sing out,
Let Freedom’s theme be One;
Let every man in freedom shout:
“The field for all is won!”
