Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

(Romans 16: 17-18)

Our Unity, the Bond of Perfectness

by Laura Moliter C.S.

Those who seek to divide rather than to unify are not true followers of Christ, Truth. Anything that would attempt to bring authority to personal opinion and judgment at the expense of a true and honest sense of love and respect for God’s man needs to be avoided. We must be watchful in these things; not to be afraid of men or their attempts to lead us astray, but to be wise to mortal mind’s tactics and grateful for Love’s constant presence and power.

It’s really about recognizing that Truth deep within you, the word of Christ that brings peace and love, not fear and shame. It is about recognizing and rejecting that sense of person that would have us feel less than good, separate, judged or judgmental, because the words one may speak come with a sense of authority—human authority. The “simple” heart, faithful to Love and its sweet promise, has true power and authority. We must trust the wisdom of our pure innocence and turn from mere eloquence or intellectualism that has no spark of genuine, unifying Love.

Our God is One and so His people are one. We know that this is the doctrine of Christ—love God and our neighbor as ourselves. The factions proposed by mortal mind are its attempt to divide the indivisible and to make weak in parts what is omnipotent when it is a whole–a loving, living body of God’s ideas, having no personal intention, but expressing naturally the purpose of infinite Love which is always to infinitely, unconditionally love!
