Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord
* The Daily Bread for today was submitted by Dick Myers:
The music is the Benedictus from the “Mass for Peace” by Karl Jenkins.
And this is an instramental version featuring two cellists from Croatia:
If you did not know it before, a “Benedictus” is a piece of music using the Latin words “Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini”, and in English, “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” It is based somewhat on Luke 1: 68 – 79, which ends with this:
78By the tender mercy of our God,
the dawn from on high will break upon us,
79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.
What could be more appropriate?
Inspired,
