Grateful Expectation with Laura Moliter, C.S. – Saturday, 08 August, 2015

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name… And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

(Hebrews 6: 10-12)

Your devotion to God, good, is never wasted or without benefit to you. As we follow God with genuine hearts and minds open to His guidance, we are achieving His purpose daily, and we have His blessing upon our work and our lives.

This may require patience at times. Don’t lose that great hope that the Christ awakened in you. Let any small faith ignited in you develop into a grateful expectation. In this way, we recognize that each moment of goodness, of loving-kindness, of obedience to the divine intention rather than to human will, is in itself a gift of glory.

So, don’t let that accusing demon of apathy and discouragement cause you to feel that you are underappreciated or that your efforts are for naught. Open your spiritual eyes to the freedom and joy and life that are already yours because of your loving intention and consecration to good. The promise of the Christ is living within you right now. It is that awareness that heaven is not in the hereafter or when certain human footsteps are accomplished. Heaven is now and here in our conscious activity of Love.
